Solar Theory Group : Seminars and Talks

Solar Theory Group : Wednesday Talks

January - March 2010

Members and guests of the Solar Theory group are invited through the year to present short talks on any aspects of their work. All talks are at 1.30pm in Room 3B of the School of Mathematical and Computational Sciences, unless otherwise stated.

Solar Theory Group : Subgroup Activity

On occasion, members of the Solar Theory Group having overlapping or common interests meet to talk on more specific problems that are more suited to a specialised audience.

At present, both a Reconnection subgroup and a Waves subgroup are meeting regularly and anyone is welcome to attend. The Waves meetings are organised by James McLaughlin, and the Reconnection ones by Eric Priest. Please contact them directly to find out more.

Other Talks Of Interest

A series of seminars held jointly with the Astronomy Group at St. Andrews. These are usually given by speakers external to St. Andrews, covering a wide range of solar and astrophysical topics.

The St Andrews Astronomy Group also has a suite of informal Lunchtime Talks (Tuesdays) and an email to announce these seminars is usually sent to the Solar Group.
