  Magnetic Null Points

Magnetic nulls are important sites for the formation of current sheets and, therefore, the occurrence of magnetic reconnection. I have classified all the types of linear, three-dimensional nulls and determined the ways in which they may linearly collapse. Currently, I am investigating analytically the different non-linear collapse processes to identify (i) the ways in which and (ii) the types of current sheets that may form.
